Ask Eyal

Eyal Danon is the President and Founder of Ignite Advisory Group, and a world-renowned expert on customer and partner advisory boards.

Question: Eyal: we have an internal executive who facilitates our client advisory council meetings, but he isn’t getting good reviews from our customer members. How can I communicate this and what can we do about it?

Answer:

Facilitating a customer advisory engagement is not an easy task, even for well-meaning internal folks. It takes years of training and experience do the job well and ensure a positive experience by all participants. Internal facilitators can be hindered by internal conflicts, such as giving priority to larger member accounts, being too vendor focused or being unable to control rogue senior host company executives. Third party facilitators ensure a world-class engagement, help create a more compelling meeting agenda, content and activities, and deliver better meeting insights. Tell your executive (gently) about CAB facilitator training and the benefits of using a professional facilitator. She may thank you for the suggestions!
